Common ticks in Butte County

The most common ticks found in Butte County are: (left to right) the Western black-legged tick, Ixodes pacificus; the American dog tick, Dermacentor variabilis; the Pacific Coast tick, Dermacentor occidentalis; and the Brown dog tick, Rhipicephalus sanquineus.
